Our GreenInitiative™ is simple. How can we improve the lives of ourselves, our employees and our community while operating in a carbon-negative way?
We are excited to announce our forecast to remove at least 100,000 tonnes of Co2 out of the environment in our first year. We are developing a circular economy in Southern Alberta derived from the basic need to divert useable resources from landfills and repurpose, recycle, and reuse these resources in our economy. Taking these resources out of the landfill will help create a circular economy by taking construction demolition waste, ICI waste (industrial, commercial, institutional) separating it, processing it, and returning it to the construction and agriculture industries to be used as a new product. Powering our facility with renewable energy helps keep Green House Gases out of the environment.
As we grow, our facility will begin to sell excess power to the local grid to partners like the town of Coaldale and local businesses. When generating excess clean energy, we will store power on site for use in our facility and to power EV charging stations on site. While being one of the first facilities of its kind, we hope to inspire other visionaries to come up with solutions and ideas to strengthen the circular economy of the future.
For as long as we can remember, Landfills, or “The Dump”, have long been the solution for waste in our daily lives. One day people figured out they can reuse some of this waste and created recycling. At 2Point0 we are taking the next important step. Our GreenInitiative™ plan is to take recyclable materials including cardboards, plastics, construction and demolition waste, textiles, woods, and yard waste out of the landfills and turn them into a viable resource for the future. Our process does this by capturing or reducing greenhouse gas. We are committed to reducing green house gases and our collective carbon footprint in Southern Alberta. Because waste isn’t just our problem, it’s everyone’s problem and we need real solutions.
